Northgate GM was founded in 1968 by Reginald Humphreys. His philosophy was simply to treat each and every customer fairly with respect and courtesy. This meant pricing products and service at fair prices, displaying net selling prices and eliminating documentation and administrative fees. Reginald Humphreys retired in 2001 due to poor health and passed on in 2006. His sons Don and Bob now carry on the business in the tradition and values left by their father.

Today Northgate GM in Edmonton is unique among metro city dealerships in that we still don't have a "business office" with all the administrative and documentation fees. Our approach is to simplify the selling experience for the customer by having the customer deal primarily with their Sales Consultant from beginning to end. Many of our Sales Consultants come from outside the automotive industry such as banking, restaurant, etc. Their approach is a consultative style, not the traditional high pressure style.

Our mission is to provide an excellent sales and service experience for our customers giving them good value and treating them with respect and courtesy in clean, comfortable surroundings.

Northgate actively participates in many charities including the Alberta Cancer Foundation and Young Life of Canada.
